Dianne Bass Clifton
Dianne Bass Clifton, 72, of Dallas Texas, passed away July 17, 2023.
Dianne was born in Panama City, Florida on July 20, 1950. After Bay High, she attended Florida State University and was awarded The Graduate Marketing Certificate (1st in her class) at COX School of Business, Southern Methodist University. She became Director of Marketing at Centex Corporation, winning numerous awards for video and print media. While she was there, the company grew from $2 billion in annual revenues to over $12 billion.
In addition to I.Q. ratings approaching 170, she had many talents. She had a beautiful coloratura soprano voice and was invited to audition for the New York Metropolitan Opera at age 16 and in high school singing competition, she won First Place in state in two categories. She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City and a Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority sister at Florida State. She was the Apalachicola Seafood Festival Queen and represented Panama City in the Miss Florida contest. While living in Harrison Arkansas, she was a member of the First Baptist Church and a choir member. She wrote and directed, "He Lives," a play of Jesus' ministry combining the four Gospels which was performed at several local churches.
She was preceded in death by her parents, "Obie" and Ajetta Bass and sister Marilyn. Continuing to treasure Dianne's memory are her loving husband of 52 years, Lee Clifton, and her five children; Donovan, Melanie, Skye, Seth, and Shiloh.
