  Notes	Richmond Times Dispatch, Virginia, December 11, 1938 Mrs. Bruce Gates Bass Mrs. Bruce Gates Bass, widow of Charles Meigs Bass, died Saturday morning at her home, Riverview Farm, Prince Edward County. Mrs. Bass, who was born at Sequine, Chesterfield County, was the daughter of Betty Bruce and William Gates. She spent most of her early life in and around Richmond and was educated in private schools. After her marriage to Mr. Bass, who later was appointed by Governor Trinkle as a member of the State Board of Agriculture for the Fourth Congressional District, Mrs. Bass spent her entire life near Farmville. She is survived by seven children, Robert A. Bass of Staunton, Mrs. James T. Bruce of Rice, Carroll M. and Martha Bass of Richmond, Mrs. E. Jeromre Raiford of Ivor, Blanche and William Beverly Bass of Prince Edward County; one sister, Mrs. Ruport W. Winfree of Chesterfield County, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday at Rice. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
