Effie Bass
Rougemont, January 13 - Effie Bass, 52, husband of Mrs. Mae Holman Bass, died at his home on Route 1, Rougemont, this morning after several years’ declining health.
He was born in Person County, a son of the late Tom and Bainie Glenn Bass. He was a lifelong resident of the Mt. Tirzah township and a member of the Siloam Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Siloam Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be carried to the home at 4 p.m. Saturday to remain until the funeral hour.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Freddie L. Bass of the home; four daughters, Luetta, Lillie Mae, Marie and Gracie Lee, all of the home; one sister, Mrs. Elise Bass Ford, Rougemont; four brothers, M.T. Bass, Baltimore; Charlie Bass, Kecoughtan, Virginia; William T. Bass, Rougemont; and Lewis Bass of Orange County.
