Janie ?Janie? Bass Rosser
ROSSER, Janet "Janie" Bass, 66, passed away on July 14, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ada Bass; and her sister, Margaret Bass Henderson. Janie was a well-known staple in the community who worked for Kroger Supermarket for several years as a Drug GM Clerk, Senior Union Shop Steward, a long-time member of the Kroger Council, as well as a member of the Union Local 400, until her health took a turn. She always made everyone feel like family. Janie was known for doing so much, for so many, for so long, it was truly a God given gift. However, her pride and joy was her family; they were her everything. She loved to spoil them in any way she could, whether it be making her famous grape salad or the eclair cake, or just family gatherings with plenty of food. Janie was always there for friends and family, be it you were a blood relative or not, you were made to feel that way. Her presence will be missed. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 19 years, Larry Rosser; her three daughters, Rhonda Thomas (Russ), Alison "Julie" Howard and Kelly Mulligan; grandchildren, Justin, Danielle, Jessica, Joshua, Tyler, Conor, Matthew, Brandon, Aedan and Seydi Jeyne; one greatgrandchild, Caleb; one brother, Jim Bass and his wife, Linda; and a host of nieces, one nephew, family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, July 20, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with funeral services Monday, July 21, at 12 noon. All services will be at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond Va. 23231.
