A native of Nash County, he was a retired supervisor with Sealtest-Kraft Inc. He also had worked at Flav-O-Rich Dairy. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are wife, Doris G. Bass; sons, G. Michael Bass, Mark Clinton Bass, both of Greensboro; daughters, Nancy B. Smith of Greensboro; brothers, J.W. Bass of Rocky Mount, Maurice Bass, Earl Bass, Bill Bass, Pete Bass, all of Greensboro; sister, Ila Bass Purgason of Greensboro. The family will be at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Funeral Home 4-5:30 p.m. today, other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Greensboro, 706 N. Greene St., Greensboro, N.C. 27401.
