Gilbert Ray Bass
JACKSONVILLE - Mr. Gilbert Ray Bass, 77, of 414 Maple Street died Tuesday, March 21, 1995, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jones Funeral Home. Burial will be in Onslow Memorial Park.
Mr. Bass was a native of Wayne County, retired from the United States Marine Corp, served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of Northwoods United Methodist Church, a shirner, a 32nd Mason and was a Mason for over 50 years and a member of the Keystone Cops in Jacksonville.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James K. and Peggy Bass of Greensboro; sisters, Dorothea York of Coldale, Colo. and Martha Jane Williamson of Wilson; grandson, Jonathan Bass of Greensboro; granddaughters, Amanda Bass of Greensboro and Connie King of Stokesdale; great-grandson, Gary King, Jr. of Stokesdale and great-granddaughter, Ashley King of Stokesdale.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
