Bass ? King
The lovely home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam King on Mosby Avenue was an ideal setting for the lovely wedding of two popular young people of the younger set, Charles White Bass of Nashville, N.C., and Miss Aelise King of Littleton, N.C. The Rev. Garland Hendricks, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Littleton, officiated. The vows were spoken before an improvised altar of pines, ferns, gladioli, and Easter lilies, filling the air with a subtle perfume. Prior to the ceremony Mrs. John Howard Daniel of Warrenton, accompanied by Mrs. Leslie Crawley of Littleton, played two selection on the violin, ?Tramere? by Schumken, and Schubert?s ?Serenade?. The bridal chorus from Lohengrin by Wagner was used as the processional and ?To a Wild Rose? was softly played during the ceremony. Mrs. Donald king of Franklin, Va., who attended the bride as dame of honor, was attired in a powder blue crepe with navy accessories. Her corsage of talisman roses and sweet peas gave a final touch of perfection to her lovely gown. The bride was given in marriage by her brothers, Carlyle King, of Lynchburg, Va. She was gowned in an exquisite perosa costume suit of Capri blue with navy accessories, adorned with a shoulder corsage of gardenias and valley lilies. The bride-groom was attended by his brother, Harrell Bass, of Spring Hope, as best man. Mr. Donald King of Franklin, Va., and Mr. Boyer Bass of Nashville, N.C. were the ushers. Immediately following the nuptials the bride?s parents entertained the guests at an elaborate luncheon. Immediately following the luncheon the bridal couple left for Charleston, S.C., to visit the famous magnolia gardens and other points of interest in that vicinity. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam King of Littleton. She is a graduate of State Teachers? College of Farmville, Va. For the past several years she has been a popular teacher in the Afton Elberm School of Warrenton, N.C. Mr. Bass is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie White Bass of Nashville, N.C. He is a graduate of Kings? Business College in Raleigh, N.C. and at the present time holds a responsible position for the Evans Lumber Co. of Nashville, N.C. After May the third the couple will be at home to their many friends in that town.
