Freda Elizabeth Beam
Freda Elizabeth Beam, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 20, 2019. Visitation will be at Jackson's Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home, Friday January 25, from 6:00-8:00 pm with a private family service held on Saturday January 26, 2019. Mrs. Beam was the oldest of four daughters born to Fred Farmer and Millie Bassett Farmer on June 29, 1929, in Monte Vista, Colorado. She grew up in Edgewood, New Mexico. She is a graduate of Albuquerque High School and Southwestern Business College. She worked at TWA and Crane before marrying the love of her life J.L. Beam. They met in Roswell, New Mexico, and upon her husband?s retirement from the service, they resided in Whitehouse, Texas, where they raised their three daughters. Freda was a lifetime member of the PTA where she served as president. She was the Whitehouse High School band booster president for several years chaperoning her daughters? band trips and organizing band fund-raisers. As a former band director stated, ?A more loyal band mom, there never was.? She was appreciated and respected by teachers, students, and fellow parents. Her gift for serving others continued when she began working as a checker at Brookshire?s where she received numerous awards for her work ethic and customer service. After 20 years of service, she retired from Brookshire?s at the age of 75. She lived out her faith humbly and meekly with kindness and gentleness as she served her family, community, employers, and fellow man on a daily basis as is instructed in the verse she lived her life by:Titus 2:3-4 ?The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,? She is preceded in death by her husband, J.L Beam, daughter, Renee Beam Wilson, parents, and step-mother Alva Farmer, sisters Dorothy Farmer and Norma Gene Garland. Survivors include her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Shirlene and Mark Goodwin of Tyler, Regina and Mal Staples of Spring, and Thomas Wilson of Nacogdoches; grandchildren Jeffrey Staples, Christina Staples, Kristin Goodwin and husband Matt, Kevin Wilson, Jace Wilson and wife Desiree; great grand son Jace Wilson Jr.; sister Elaine Clarence and husband Wesley of Farmington, New Mexico, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the members of her church family, who faithfully visited and encouraged her as well as to Dr. Kevin Paul, Dr. Julia Hwang, Heart to Heart Hospice, and the staff of Azalea Trails, who all lovingly cared for her.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice 7925 S.
