He was a native of Guilford County and a former employee of Crown Pontiac. Surviving are wife, Mrs. Thelma Bass; sons, Duncan, Donald, Charles, Thomas and James Bass of Greensboro; daughters, Mrs. Joan Moore, Mrs. Denise Garner, Mrs. Carolyn Tatum and Mrs. Shirley Moore of Greensboro; brothers, Sam Bass of Greensboro, Robert Bass of Newark, N.J.; sister, Mrs. Lucinda McCallum of Greensboro; stepson, Alvis Moore of Reidsville; step-daughter, Mrs. Sabrina Bell of Florida; 13 grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home 7:30-8 p.m. Monday.
