William O. Bass
Funeral services for William O. Bass, 87, of Mansfield, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2002 in Centuries Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Reynolds, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
Mr. Bass was born in St. Maurice, LA on November 17, 1914. He passed away in Mansfield on Wednesday, February 20, 2002 after a sudden illness. He was retired from the automobile and service station business. Mr. Bass proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He had resided in Mansfield for the past three years and was a former resident of Shreveport and Calvin, LA. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mansfield where he served as chairman of deacons, having been a deacon for over 50 years.
Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 63 years, Reba Gibson Bass of Mansfield; two sons, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Joby Bass, Jeff Bass, Jody Allen, Hulon Sistrunk, Marvin Melton and Tommy Hall.
