Gerald Lee ?Croker? Bass, age 73, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House in Whiteville, NC. Croker was born on March 5, 1951 in Robeson County to the late Rudolph Bass and Dorothy Smith Bass.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Rudolph Bass, Jr. and Von Shepherd ?Sonny? Bass; brother-in-law, Robert Fields; and nephew, Michael Bass.
In his spare time, Croker loved to spend time with his family and friends on camping trips. He was retired from Frost Temp Mechanical Refrigeration.
Croker is survived by his wife, Clara Joyce Smith Bass; daughter, Melissa ?Missy? Britt and husband Michael of Lumberton, NC; grandsons, Shane Britt and Trey Britt; great-grandchildren, Gabe Britt and Brent Britt; sisters: Carolyn Wilkerson and husband Cub of Fairmont, NC, Jennifer Fields of Lumberton, NC, and Dolores ?Net? Whitt and husband Roger of Selma, NC; a brother, Wayne Bass and wife Susan of Fairmont; and special friends, Roger & Cathy Ivey of St. Pauls, NC; as well as a host of nieces.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 10, 2025, at First Pentecostal Church, 812 E. 5th Street, Lumberton, NC. Burial will follow the service at Meadowbrook Cemetery, 400 E. 24th Street, Lumberton, NC.
