Final Rites Held For Mr. L.B. Bass

Proctorville, Sept. 7 ? Coming to the community as a great shock was the death of Mr. L. B. Bass, 40, of near Fairmont who died Saturday at 2 p.m., Sept. 3.
Mr. Bass was taken sick Wednesday morning with double pneumonia and only lived a short while. He was born and reared in Barnesville section and lived there until about two years ago he moved near Fairmont. In early boyhood he confessed religion and joined Bethesda Methodist church. He was loyal to his church and community. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral service was conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.W. Bradley. He was laid to rest in Bethesda cemetery in the presence of a large congregation.
Deceased is survived by his widow, who was Miss Mattie Edwards before marriage, and five children; Viola, 21; martin, 19; Tessie Mae, 15; Hube, 12; Gateon,10; and following brothers and sisters: Mrs. James Andrews of Fairmont, Mrs. W.H. Andrews of West Lumberton, Von Bass of Fairmont, D.B. of Center section, Lon and Joe of Barnesville.
Pallbearers were Lee Shepard, Linue Barnhill, Harold Jones, Jim Inman, James Floyd, Oscar Anderson. The grave was covered with many beautiful flowers.
