Bass, 71, of the Barnesville section, who died Monday at 1 p.m after an extended illness, will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. from Barnesville Baptist church, of which he was a member, with Rev. E.P. Lockamy, pastor, in charge. Interment will be made in the Barnesville Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Fannie Jenkins Bass; 9 sons, John of Wilmington, Walter of Chadbourn, Brady of Abbottsburg, Arthur of Portsmouth, Va., Grady of the community, Bickett of Charlotte, Wilton of the U.S. Navy, stationed in California, Laymon and Bleese of the hom; 6 daughters, Mrs. Weldon Connor, Mrs. Bud Wilkerson, and Mrs. Croswel Bowens of the community, Mrs. Burney James of Lumberton, Misses Marie and Bernice of the home; 18 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; one brother, Von Bass of the community; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lela Andrews of Fairmont, and Mrs. Lucy Andrews Lumberton.
