Sue Lambeth To Be Entertained
Miss Sue Lambeth will receive bridal courtesy from Mrs. W.T. Coe tomorrow night at 7:30 o?clock at the Coe home on Liberty Road. Some 20 guests are included.
The honorer?s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Sylvester Lambeth, Liberty Road, issued invitations yesterday to the marriage of their daughter and Airman Donald G. Bassett of Loring Air Force Base, Limestone, Me., son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis George Bassett of Shawnigan Falls, Canada.
The ceremony will take pace Saturday, July 7, at 5 p.m in Centenary Methodist Church and will be followed by a reception in the church social rooms. The bride?s uncle, Rev. A.C. Gibbs of Connelly Springs, will officiate assisted by the Centenary pastor, Rev. Russell Young. Rev. Mr. Gibbs married the bride?s parents 29 years ago.
The bride will be attended by Mrs. Archibald Fort, matron of honor, Mrs. Richard Herbin and Miss Phyllis Ragan, senior bridesmaids, and Nancy Jane Lambeth, her cousin, junior bridesmaid. The bridegroom will have his brother, Willis of Montreal, Canada, for best man. The bride?s brother, Larry Lambeth of Salisbury, Md., and her cousin, John Lambeth of Raleigh, will usher with Airman John Werbe of Limestone, and Ernest Gunn of Monticello. Music will be furnished by Mrs. Garland Robeson, organist, and Edward B. Smith, tenor.
The bridegroom expects his military discharge on June 26.

Carolyn Bassett
March 31, 1933 ? June 2, 2024
Carolyn Sue Lambeth Bassett was born in Greensboro on March 31, 1933. She graduated from Greensboro High School in 1955 and later from Women's College (UNC-G). She worked at Pilot Life and for the state of North Carolina following her marriage to Donald Bassett and NC State while her husband attended that university. Work life took the family to Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two children; multiple grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. She left us on June 2, 2024, while in Whittier Hall on the Friends Homes campus.
We love and miss you Grand Ma Sue.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Guilford Park Presbyterian Church, 2100 Fernwood Drive, Greensboro, NC.
