Sudden Death of Mrs. Bass
Mrs. Sarah E.A. Bass, of No. 410 west Clay street, widow of the late Thomas R. Bass, died suddenly yesterday morning about 11 o?clock; aged seventy-two years. She had just taken leave of her daughter, Mrs. W.A. Pearson, who had been on a visit to her and was leaving for her home, in Isle of Wight county. A few minutes after Mrs. Pearson had left the house Mrs. Bass threw her arms around her daughter, Miss Helen, and said: ?Oh, I have such a singular feeling about the head.? She then fell on the bed.
Dr. Parker, who was passing, was called in, and examined her and pronounced her dead. The cause was probably heart disease.
Mrs. Bass leaves seven children ? two daughters and five sons. She was a trusful Christian and a kind neighbor, and was much beloved.
The funeral will take place from the deceased?s residence this afternoon at 5 o?clock.
