Mark Edward Bass
Mark Edward Bass, 76, of Benton Harbor passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 22, 2021.
A gathering of family and friends will be 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, June 2, Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman.

Mark was born in Benton Harbor on Dec. 17, 1944, and grew up with his brother, Floyd (Higi) Bass, and two sisters (Janice McAlpine and Joyce Edwards) in Benton Harbor. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1963, and later attained degrees in Information Technology from both Merritt College in Oakland, Calif., and Indiana University.
Mark worked for Kirschenbaum's United Bag Company and then Midwest Steel Corp. in South Bend, Ind., as an IT help desk operator for over 20 years of dedicated service, eventually retiring at the age of 60.
Mark was an avid sports fan, loved traveling and documenting events with his trusty camcorder. He also enjoyed taking his kids on summer adventures, walking along Lake Michigan, finding parts for his vintage VW Vanagons and creating tribute DVD's to remember family members and special events. Nothing gave him more joy than creating a video record to reminisce on. He also delighted in participating in the Bass Brawl Crawl in Richfield, Minn., and donating to heart research in memory of his son, Jason.
Survived by his loving daughter, Karla (Geoff Cornwell); grandson, Jace Parker Cornwell; sister, Joyce Edwards; niece, Julie (Tim) Enders; great-nephews: Jeremy Edwards, Tommy Edwards and Ben Enders; and great-niece Jessica Enders.
Preceded in death by parents: Lena Marie (Austin) and Floyd Bass; son, Jason E. Bass; brother, Floyd (Higi) Bass; and sister, Janice McAlpine.
