Ruby Bass Boney
BLYTHEWOOD: Ruby Bass Boeny, 84, of Blythewood, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 8, 2014. Born September 2, 1929 in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Earlee Bass and Frances Dunn Rutland.
A member of Sandy Level Baptist Church for over 60 years, she was a member of the L.L.L. Sunday School Class. Ruby possessed a deep and abiding faith in her Lord that was lived out through her love and care for others. Ruby loved her flowers and gardening. She was undettered by health concerns and continued to paint and create works of art for family and friends. She was an inspiration and friend to many at the Sterling House, where she resided for eight years.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Collins (Russ) of Anderson; sons, Herman Boney (Beth), and Jerry Boney (Susan), all of BLythwood; grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Foster (Corey), Jeffrey Elbert Boney (Amber), Brian Russell Collins (Bayleigh); great grandchildren, Kalih Sara Foster, Cohen Russell Foster, Collins Lee Foster, Colt James Boney, unbroan great-grandson, carter Brian Collins; and grandpuppy, Taz. In addition to her parents, she was prededed in death by her loving husband, Elbert H. ?Dick? Boney; daughter, Linda Margaret Boney, and her brother, Henry Albert Bass.
The funeral service for Mrs. Boney will be held 11 o?clock, Tuesday, February 11th, at Sandy Level Baptist Church, with The Rev. Dr. Stephen Gantt, and The Rev. Horst Trojahn officiating. Members of L.L.L. Sunday School Class are invited to serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 to 7 o?clock, at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Dr., Columbia. Friends are also invited to call at the home of Jerry and Susan Boney, 1055 Russ Brown Road, Blythewood. Memorial may be made to Sandy Level Baptist Church, 408 Blythewood Rd., Blythewood, SC, 29106.
