Lowell Bass

Lowell was born Oct. 2, 1948, to Christine and Purdy Wayland Bass in Henryetta, Okla., and grew up in Tulsa, Okla., in the Berryhill community. He attended Texas Bible College in Houston, Texas, before marrying Terry Grisham in May, 1968, in Tulsa. Together, they served in youth ministry at Evangelistic Temple in Hammond, Ind. before Lowell's U.S. Army service for two years, including one year in Vietnam. Lowell served in youth ministry several years at First Apostolic Church in Tulsa, before leaving for other ministry positions in Jackson, Miss., at Jackson College of Ministries and New Life Apostolic Church of Detroit, Mich.
In 1977, Lowell moved with his family to Colorado, where they pioneered home mission churches in La Junta and Greeley. To support his family and the churches, Lowell was in police work for nine years in positions of deputy, investigator for district attorney, detective for La Junta Police Department and for a time was coroner's investigator, as well as other endeavors, such as running a catering/BBQ restaurant for a time and a roofing business for a time. In his later years, Lowell was a job superintendent on multiple projects building water treatment plants.
Lowell fought a fierce battle with multiple myeloma for the past five years and passed from this life on Friday, July 8, 2016, at Tru Hospice of Northern Colorado in Greeley.
He is survived by his wife, Terry; daughter, Angela Barron; son-in-law, Frank Barron; son, Brent Bass; daughter, Natalie Lozano and son-in-law, Malio Lozano; five grandchildren, Ariel Rosales-Bass, Reagan Barron, Landon Lozano, Landry Lozano and Nadia Lozano; as well as his sister, Gayle Bryant. He will be sadly missed by his family and a host of enduring friends.
Viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday July 12, 2016, at Pentecostals of Loveland, 201 Lincoln Ave. with Service to follow at 11 a.m. and a reception to follow the service. Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver. Memorial gifts may be made to "Wounded Warrior" or "Tupelo Children's Mansion" in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, Colo. 80634.
