Ira Bass, 71, retired farmer, and native of Robeson County, N.C., died Saturday afternoon at his home near Mullins. Mr. Bass had been in declining health two years. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bass. Funeral services were held at the Cox Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. J.E. Clark. Burial was in Cedardale Cemetery. He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Maggie Edwards; three sons, Bertis Bass and Wilbur Bass of Nichols and Manus Bass of the home, and 10 grandchildren.
