Jeffrey Tom Bassett
1961 - 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Jeffrey Tom Bassett age 61 years old passed away peacefully in his home on May 11, 2023.
Jeff was raised in Santa Maria, attending local schools and graduated from Righetti High School. At the age of 18 years old he joined the Local Brick Layers Union Allied Craftsman of American Local #4.
Jeff worked for his Dad (Benny Bassett) for many years and that is where he learned his trade as a bricklayer. Jeff traveled to other areas of California and helped build shopping centers. And later on, to Hawaii to carry out his trade.
Jeff was a loyal member of Pacific Christian Church where he served a lot of years their worshiping the Lord. And he devoted his free time building a bar-b-que pit for the church and much more. At one time he had the opportunity to go be a missionary in Honduras. He was an avid ocean fisherman and enjoyed his annual vacation to Florida.
Jeff was a very kind, sincere person. He would do anything to help others out. He had many friends, old and new and meeting someone new every day.
He also loved getting to know his nieces and nephews and loved to play jokes on all of them,
Jeff was known for his addiction of going to every thrift store he could fine and the same with garage and estate sales. He would be so happy to drive by and show his findings too.
Jeff's greatest joy in life was his two daughters, Carissa and Casey. He was most recently blessed with his first grandchild, Jack. He had aspirations of spending a beautiful future with him.
Jeff is survived by his daughter, Carissa Bassett, Casey Kolouch (Jonny) and his precious grandson, Jack Kolouch.
He leaves behind his four siblings, Danny Bassett (Judy), Larry Bassett (Sandie), Jeannie Bassett-Lambert, and Timothy Bassett. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeff was proceeded in death by his parents Benny Bassett and Geraldine (Jerri) Bennett.
Jeff will be missed by so many. He was a ray of sunshine who always had a twinkle in his eyes and a sparkle to his smile.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 9th.
