She was the wife of the late Frank J. Hirst Sr. Born in Three Rivers, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Edward and Victoria (Beauchamp) Bessett. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Allentown. Survivors: Sons, Ralph C., Forrest R., William C., Frank J. Jr., Eugene B. and James M., all of Allentown, and P. Douglas of Macungie; daughters, Jeannette V., Loretta C., wife of Robert W. Melick, both of Allentown, and Frances E., wife of Richard Mundey of East Petersburg, Lancaster County; 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, Gerald T. and Robert L. Services: 9:15 a.m. Monday, Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown; Mass at 10 a.m. in the church. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday.
