Edgar Bass
PORTSMOUTH ? Edgar Bass, 56, of 93 Channing Ave., died Tuesday morning in McGuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond, after a long illness.
A native of Portsmouth, he was a son of Edward and Mrs. Mae Taylor Bass and the husband of Rosaline R. Bass. He was a retired painter, formerly with the Naval Shipyard, and a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.
Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Richard A. Blosser and Miss Mae Bass of Portsmouth; a sister, Mrs. Thomas King of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five brothers, Raymond Bass, Emmett Bass, Harry Bass, Herbert Bass and Hurl Bass of Hoboken, N.J.; and a grandson.
The body was taken to Foster Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be said Thursday at 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Paul?s Cemetery.
