      Died Thursday, Aug. 25, 1983, in Port Allen. He was 55, a native of Atlanta, Texas, and resident of New Roads. He was a retired Dupont Chemical Co. engineer and an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. Visiting at Niland?s Funeral Home, New Roads, 8 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday. Religious services at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, New Roads, at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Frank Uter. Survived by his wife, M. Virginia McNicoll Bass, New Roads; ten daughters, Kimberly Anastasia, Sabrina Michelle, Desiree Diana and Judith Angelique Bass, Mrs. Marty (Veronica) Lemoine and Mrs. Stephen (Mary) Burleigh, all of New Roads, Belinda Jane Bass, Lafayette, Mrs. Thomas (Barbara) Van Vranken, Ponchatoula, Mrs. J. (Janet) Maumus, New Orleans, and Mrs. Chris (Frances) Moody, Hammond; five sons, Mark Kipling, Vincent Tyrone and James Enoch Bass Jr., all of New Roads, Jon Alan Bass, Port Vincent, and Thomas Andre Bass, Lafayette; a brother, Howard Bass, Orange, Texas; and seven grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church, New Roads.

Religious services at St. Mary?s Catholic Churhc, New Roads, at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Michael Schatzle. Interment in church Cemetery. Survived by his mother, Virginia M. Bass, New Roads; a stepdaughter, Courtney Vernon, Morgan City; two sons, James ?Skeet? Bass, Morgan City, and James Patrick Bass, New Orleans; 10 sisters, Francis Moody, Janet Maumus, Barbara Van Vrancken, Belinda Schoeffler, Mary Burleigh, Veronica Lemoine, Judith Niland, Desiree Peebles, Sabrina Lonadier and Stacy Ogier; four brothers, Jon, Thomas, Kip and Tyrone Bass; and numerous nieces and nephews.
