Luster Bass
CRAVENS ? Services for Luster Bass will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Gravel Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Hixson, DeRidder.
Bass, 84, of Alexandria died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 1996, in Rapides General Hospital.
He was a retired carpenter from Fort Polk and also worked as a shipping clerk in Elizabeth Paper Mill. He was a longtime resident of Cravens and a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Vergie James Bass of Alexandria; four sons, Julius Bass of Alvin, Texas, Homer Bass of West Monroe, Larry Bass of Rosepine and Donald Bass of LaMarque, Texas; five daughters, Margie Bass, Nita Norlander and Linda Gates, all of Alexandria, Sue Mitchell of Texarkana, Texas, and Lutherine Ashworth of Rosepine; 37 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 8 am. until 10 p.m. today and from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until time of services in the church.
