Margaret ?Margie? Bass Goodwin
A funeral service honoring the life of Margaret "Margie" Bass Goodwin will be held at 3 p.m. on May 30 at the LaCamp Church of God in LaCamp, with Revs. Shawn Waggoner and Greg Mortenson officiating. Burial will follow in the LaCamp Cemetery under the guidance of Jeane's Funeral Service of Leesville.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. on May 29 until the time of services on May 30 at the LaCamp Church of God.
Margie had lived in the Hicks-LaCamp area most of her life and was a 1968 graduate of Hicks High School. After graduation, she married the love of her life, Russell Goodwin, and attended beauty school, and soon after opened her own beauty shop at her home so she could raise her children. A loving mother, grandmother and wife, she loved to collect angel figurines and beanie babies, and also coordinated weddings. A lifelong member of LaCamp Church of God, she led music, sang solos, quartets or did whatever was needed to serve God.
Preceding her in death was her father, Cecil Bass. Survivors are her husband of 45 years, James Russell Goodwin of Hicks; daughter, Tonya Goodwin of Coushatta; sons, Jason Goodwin, and Justin Goodwin and wife, Kathy of Hicks; mother, Lorraine Bass of LaCamp; sisters, Carolyn Smith of Baton Rouge, and Earlene Glass of Florida; and nannas angels, Montana, Skylar, Landon, Kylie and Russell.
