The funeral will be Saturday at 4 p.m. in Oakdale Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Thomas Brown. Burial will be in the Bass Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Pearl Ivey Bass; a son, John Floyd Bass of the home; a stepson, Wilton Douglas Ivey of Fairmont; his stepdaughters, Mrs. Jasper Barfield and Mrs. Doug Dickens of Fairmont, Mrs. Melton Todd of Nichols, S.C., and Mrs. Freeman Fowler of Homestead, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Norma Byrd of Fairmont; a brother, James W. Bass of Fairmont; 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
