Diane Edminster
1933 ? 2022
Diane Knudsen Edminster passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 21, 2022. She was born to Earl John and Leona Bassett Knudsen on December 6, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended East High where she was on their tennis team and won several regional competitions. She graduated from the University of California ? Berkley with a degree in Economics and went on to get her Masters Degree and Doctorate in Education at the University of Utah. She married Robert R. Edminster and they had twin sons, Marc Regan (Linda) and Robert Kevin (JoAnn). Later divorced. When her children were young, they spent many years living in South America where Diane taught in the American School in La Paz, Bolivia. She worked for the State Department in Washington D. C. Diane was actively involved in social justice causes and worked for the civil rights and equal opportunities for all people. She spent her later years living in Hawaii, where she loved the climate and the peaceful countryside. She was an avid reader and letter writer. Daily trips to the library and post office were common. She is survived by her sons, eight grandchildren, Catherine, Robert, Allison, Lizzy, Jeff, Maggie, David and Kevin, 11 great-grandchildren and her twin brother, Richard (Bonnie) Knudson. Preceded in death by her parents and two older brothers, Charles and Jack. Diane believed strongly in the value of education and left an enduring legacy to her family.
