Ruby Bass
Ruby Bass STATESVILLE Mrs. Ruby Harrell Bass, 98, of Statesville, passed away, Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Maple Leaf Healthcare. Mrs. Bass was the daughter of Minnie Harrell Robins and Joe Harrell. She was a graduate of the Wilson County Schools. She was married to the late Joseph Henry Bass Feb. 24, 1940. Mrs. Bass was an active member of the Western Avenue Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and friend. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Victoria Ehrke; and a son, Ted Bass. Mrs. Bass is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Joanne) Pressley, of Matthews and Mrs. T.C. (Carole) Spell, of Statesville; four grandchildren, Carrie Seeber, of Davidson, Steven Spell, of Troutman, Melissa Cassell, of Matthews and Eric Pressley, of Bowling Springs, S.C.; and eight great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Oakwood Cemetery, with Skip Cartin officiating. Memorials may be made to Western Avenue Baptist Church, 1206 Museum Rd., Statesville, NC 28677. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Ruby Bass.
