  Notes	The Weekly Sumter Republican, Georgia, December 5, 1879 Died On Tuesday last, at her residence, in the 15th District of Sumter County, Mrs. Mary Bass, relict of the late Quincy Bass, in the 84th year of her age. For many years she was a devout member of the Methodist church, and was an exemplar Christian. Her life was a shining example to her many friends as to how a Christian should live, and her death was a glorious triumph of faith in her Redeemer. She leaves one of the largest families in the county ? over one hundred and fifty children, grand children and great grand children survive her to bless her memory.
