      William E. Bassett

      LYONS - William E. Bassett, 73, passed away Wednesday (February 17, 2016).
      Family and friends may call Saturday (Feb. 20) from 1 to 3 p.m. at Weeks-Keysor Funeral Home, 5 Phelps St., Lyons. Other services will be private.
      Bill was born June 19, 1942, in Newark, a son to the late George and Harriet Seymour Bassett. He retired from Parker-Hannifin in Lyons in 2008. He also was a volunteer at Lyons Fire Department.
      Survived by four siblings, Gwendolyn (William) Banckert of Newark, Shirley (Jim) Johns of Lyons, Georgine Swann of Newark and David Bassett of Newark; nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend James Pacello III.
      He was predeceased by his grandfather, Robert Seymour.

      LYONS ? A candlelight service was held Friday night, Aug. 22 at St. Michael?s Church to unite in marriage Corrie Anne Lese, daughter of Anthony and Ann Lese of Lyons, and William E. Bassett, son of Mrs. Harriet Bassett of Lyons and the late George Bassett.
      The bride carried a fan of lace decorated with yellow baby roses, daisies and baby?s breath.
      Her gown was of Qiana knit with an empire waistline, a Queen Anne neckline and capped sleeves trimmed in English netting and Venetian lace. Her cathedral train was also trimmed in Venetian lace. Baby?s breath was worn in her hair.
      Miss Becky Nolan of Geneva was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Tina Cemoni of Geneva, Miss Michelle Gutschow of Lyons and Miss Maureen Knight of Lyons. Miss Deanna Lese, sister of the bride, was a junior bridesmaid and Susan VanElzakker of Fairport was the flower girl.
      Keith Wagner served as best man. The ushers were Steve Davis of Clyde, Michael Clingerman of Lyons, Will Chapzek of Geneva and Jeff Swann of Lyons, nephew of the bridegroom. Michael Van Elzakker of Fairport, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.
      The church was decorated with yellow glads and baby?s breath. Clobbed candle arrangements of glads and baby?s breath decorated the pews. The Rev. Richard Orlando performed the 6:30 p.m. ceremony with guitar music provided by Beth DeCracker and Bob Whitbeck of Lyons.
      Following the reception at Becken?s Park and Party House in Newark, the couple left for a honeymoon trip to Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. They will reside at 59 Maple St., Lyons.
