Floyd C. Bass
BASS Floyd C. Bass, age 74, of Columbus, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at The Ohio State University Hospital. He was born April 18, 1931 in Lorado, W.Va., the son of Floyd and Edith Bass. He attended Buffalo High School and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War. He worked for Mount Carmel Hospital West, The Weatherhead Company, Ross Products, and most recently an Outstanding Volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Edith Bass, sister Mary (Lloyd) Dillard. Survived by his wife of 41 years, Estella Irene; children, Robin (Paul) Holliman, John (Sandy) Allen, Valorie Davis (Ralph Craig), Wayne (Susan) Bass and Lisa Bass; grandchildren, Hope (Duane) Foster, Troy (Cheryl) Davis, Kenneth Davis Jr., Tracy Harrison, Tenesha Griffin, Summer Allen and Ross Holliman; great-grandchildren, Dolan and Amanda Foster, Taylor, Sydney and Jaxon Davis, Kylan and Karter Hicks, Kenneth III and Darion Davis; sister, Margaret (Norman) Board; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. He was a saxophonist, a member of New Life Apostolic Church, a faithful and dedicated Sunday School teacher, a church trustee, and known by many as ''The Best Deacon on the Planet.'' He had a busy and productive life that inspired the many lives he touched. Homegoing Celebration 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2005 at New Covenant Believers' Church, Howard Tillman, Pastor, 3400 Kohr Boulevard, 614-475-1678. Pastor Curtis D. Scott, Eulogist. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment Northlawn Memory Gardens, 7060 State Route 3, Westerville. Arrangements by J. MARTIN SMITH MORTUARY.
