  Notes	Finda-Grave Obituary Charlie Sam Bass SCIO ? Charlie Sam Bass died Saturday, July 22, 1989 at Lebanon Community Hospital. He was 64. He was born May 20, 1925, in Hasty, Arkansas. He lived in Morehouse, MO, as a youth and moved to California in 1941. He moved to Scio in 1980. Mr. Bass was a retired long-distance truck driver and a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid supporter of Scio sports, especially football and softball. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine ?Bobbe? of Scio; sons Robert in the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Steven of Scio; Carl of California; and Garrey of Oklahoma; daughters, Jody Bass of Scio; Karen Lee of Bentonville, Arkansas; and Darlene Bass and Carolyn Hayter, both of Oklahoma. Also surviving are his mother, Dellar Bass, of Strathmore, CA; brothers, Richard Bass of Lindsay, CA; and Earl Bass and Devearl Hazelwood, both of Strathmore, CA; 20 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 26, 1989 at 2 p.m. at Weddle Funeral Home in Stayton. Burial followed at Miller Cemetery in Scio. Memorial can be made to the Scio School sports program.
