  Notes	Joseph and Josephine (Winne) Bassett came to Michigan from Crosswell, Cumberland County, Tennessee, by oxcart when their daughter, Rose, was seven (?) years old. Bassett J.N. Bassett died at his home in Whitehall Tuesday afternoon. He had been ill for the last two years, but his final illness confined him to his bed about two weeks ago, and on Saturday of last week he suffered a stroke of apoplexy and became unconscious. He remained in this comatose condition until he died. Mr. Bassett and wife had been residents of Whitehall thirty years having moved there from New York. Mr. Bassett worked as a carpenter for several years after his arrival, but has been employed by Erickson Steffee recently. He was buried yesterday.
