  Notes	Rocky Mounty Telegram, North Carolina, Friday, 16 Mar 1973 Jerry Roam Bass Jerry Roam Bass, 85, of Tarboro Highway, died early this morning in Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, S.C., following an extended illness. He was born in Wilson County, son of the late Isaac and Landonie Elizabeth Petway Bass. He was employed with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad from 1907 until his retirement in 1960. Since that time he has been known in North Carolina for his large grape vineyards. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Della Ardealier Ellis Bass; five sons, Edward R. and Ray C. Bass, both of Columbia, S.C., Marvelin I. Bass of Breenville, S.C., Thomas Eugene Bass of Indo, Calif., and Lee Roy Bass of Tamps, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Peggy) Young of Columbia, S.C., one sister, Mrs. T.N. (Nora) Brafford of Rocky Mount; one brothers, Henry Gray Bass of Baltimore, Md.; 37 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Gay Yost Chapel by Elder James L. Bennett. Burial will follow Sunday in Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbia, S.C. The family will received friends tonight at the funeral home from 7 to 9 o?clock, and at at other times at the residence on Tarboro Highway.
