Willard Bass, 70
Willard Bass, 70, of 1105 Vesper Lane, Fayetteville, died Monday, May 13, 2002, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Bass was owner of Bass Auto Repair in Fayetteville. He was an active member of the 503rd/80th ABN AAA BN and the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Bass was an Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Second Baptist Missionary Church, where he served as an usher.
Mr. Willard was a native of Durham and the son of the late William Leavie Bass and Pearlie Bass Moore.
The funeral will be held at noon Saturday, May 18, at Second Baptist Missionary Church on Wilmington Road.
Surviving are his wife, Emma S. Bass; two brothers, June Alex Bass and Donnie Bass; four daughters, Rhonda Reed (Derryl), Lavonnia McClaine (Michael), Tameria Lipscomb (Connie) and Valoria Ingram (James). Mr. Bass was predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Van Hook. Also surviving are two sons, Willard W. Bass, Jr. (Diane) and Darrell Bass; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many beloved relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Wiseman Funeral Home on Cumberland St.
