      Mrs. Agrippa D. Bass was born September 29, 1924, in Somerville, Alabama. She was one of fifteen children born to Sol and Maggie (Emerson) Davis. She transitioned on April 9, 2020, in Decatur, Georgia, at the age of 95. She was a resident of Huntsville, Alabama for 90 years. She moved to Georgia to live with her daughter, G. Bebe Bass-Love.
      In her early years, Mrs. Bass was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Somerville, Alabama. She attended elementary school at St. John Baptist Church Elementary School, and from seventh grade to twelfth grade, she attended Morgan County Training School. After high school, she matriculated and graduated from Alabama A & M University. Mrs. Bass began her work career with the State of Alabama in the Alabama Cooperative Extension Program. She later became an educator with the Madison County School Systems and worked for over 25 years before retiring.
      Mrs. Bass was married to the late Dr. Garland B. Bass and to that union; a daughter, G. Bebe Bass-Love was born. Mrs. Bass was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 plus years. She actively served in several ministries within the church and was part of a group of women that the church acknowledged as ?God?s Master Pieces ... Ignited to Serve 90 years plus?.
      She was the rock of her family and would often help those in need. She was very inspiring and would also push others to succeed. When not at the church or with her family, she loved to play scrabble, spades, read and do word search puzzles. She also loved spending time with her grandson, Brian.
      Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by her parents Sol and Maggie Davis; brothers, Henry Lucas Davis, Leroy Davis, Willie (Bill) Howard Davis, Sol Davis, Jr., Drifton (Barbara) Davis, Fletcher Davis, Ocie Davis; sisters, Hertisteen Davis, Ida Mae McDaniel, Warden Weeden, Katherine Black and Shelby Jean Hubbard.
      She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory: a devoted daughter, Bebe Bass-Love of Decatur, GA; grandson, Brian Love of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Ollie Griswell of Detroit, MI, Margaret Whitfield of Canton, OH, Patricia Gulley of Akron, OH and Dorothy Nell Davis, Akron, OH (formerly of Somerville, AL; one aunt, Roxie Mae Gurley of Huntsville, AL; sister-in-law, Barbara (Drifton) Davis; and a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends.

      Graveside service for Mrs. Agrippa Davis Bass (formerly of Huntsville, AL) will be Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Northside Cemetery. Public viewing will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Nelms Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

      Mrs. Agrippa Bass passed away on April 9, 2020 in Decatur, GA at the age of 95. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April, 16, 2020 from Northside Cemetery - Huntsville, AL. Public viewing will be held at Nelms Memorial Funeral Home on April 16, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.
