Kenly- James Earl ?J.E.? Bass, 76, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 22, 2020. Born in Johnston County on April 16, 1944, he was the son of the late T.G. Bass and Nannie Bridgers Bass.
J.E. worked many years for Stephenson Millwork as a cabinet maker. Upon retirement, nothing pleased J.E. more than spending time on the water with a rod and reel in his hand. He felt his most comfortable while on a boat fishing. J.E. also served his country in the Army National Guard. Above all, J.E. was a family man and always enjoyed spending time with his family.
A service to celebrate J.E.?s life will be on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Kenly Funeral Service with the Reverend Dennis Pollock presiding. Interment will follow at Kenly Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. We respectfully ask that everyone wear masks and practice social distancing during all services.
J.E. is survived by his wife, Judy Davis Bass, son Shane Bass, and wife Emily, Grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Davis, and Sawyer; Brothers, Alfred Bass, Ronald Bass and wife Judy; Sisters Joan Langley and Carol Avera.
In addition to his parents, J.E. is preceded in death by his brother, Lonnie Bass.
