Lonnie Grey Bass
Mr. Lonnie Grey Bass, age 71, of Kenly, NC, husband of Faye Jones Bass, died Monday, April 23, 2012 at Carteret General Hospital in Morehead City, NC.
Born April 29, 1940 in Johnston County, NC, he was a son of the late T. G. Bass and Nannie Barbee Bass Bridgers.
Mr. Bass was the former owner and operator of Lonnie's Seafood in Kenly, NC and retired from Purolator. He was an avid fisherman and tremendous woodworker, but, above all else, Mr. Bass was a loving husband, "Daddy", and "Pa".
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Faye Jones Bass; a daughter, Cindy Thornton of Pine Level, NC; two sisters, Carol Avera and Jean Langley of Selma, NC, both of Selma, NC; three brothers, Alfred Bass, Ronald Bass, J. E. Bass, all of Kenly, NC; and two grandchildren, Hunter Whitley of Kenly, NC and Parker Thornton of Pine Level, NC.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday evening, April 26, 2012, in the Chapel of Minshew-Coley Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Friday morning, April 27, 2012, at the Kenly Cemetery.
