Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 23, at Bennett May Chapel with the Rev. Mack Pinkelton and the Rev. Michael O'Bannon officiating. Burial was in Giles Memory Garden. A native of Giles County, Mrs. Bass was the daughter of the late M. F. and Hattie Phillips Jernigan and was married to the late Ervin Bass. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jane Chapman of Brentwood, Mrs. Mary Sue Elliott of Pulaski; two sons, Jerry Bass of Nashville, James F. Bass of Madrid, Spain; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae Owens, Mrs. Lillian Harding, Mrs. Lucille Coleman, Mrs. Clara Siebert, all of Nashville.
