Miss Bass, George Norris To Marry on April 5
Sixteen attendants have been chosen by Miss Betty Ann Bass and George Bowling Norris for their wedding which will take place at 4:30 p.m. April 5 at First Christian Church.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Neil Bass, 3440 Alta Vista Way. Mr. Norris is the son of Mrs. William F. O?Brien of Memphis and George Norris of Little Rock, Ark.
Mr. Harry R. Cooke will officiate.
Chosen as maid of honor is Miss Ellen Thackray of Johnstown, Pa., Bridesmaids will be Miss Alice Lindsay Hart of Nashville, Mrs. Daniel. R. Mayo, Mrs. James C. Talley II, Miss Lucille Schoolfield, Miss Margaret Wright and Miss Jennie D. Keeling, all of Knoxville. Miss Argie Neil Chalfant of Nashville, cousin of the bride-elect, will be junior bridesmaid.
Murray Cleveland of New Orleans, La., will be best man. Groomsmen will be Walter Pforzheimer of Washington, D.C., Alexander Cortner of Nashville, Cousin of the bride-elect, Edwin C. Huster, Frank B. Powers, Robinson Neil Bass, brother of the bride, and Allen Jones Jr. Bertram H. Chalfant Jr. of Nashville, cousin of the bride-elect, will be junior groomsman.
Following the ceremony, the bride-elect?s parents will be hosts at a reception at Cherokee Country Club.
Those who have planned parties preceding the wedding are Mr. and Mrs. Hal B. Mebane Jr., Miss Angelyn Donaldson, Mrs. W.A. Shelton, Mrs. Robert Patterson and Mrs. Sherman Woodward, Mrs. Hughlen Thornton Jr., Mrs. Charles Welch, Mrs. Robert S. Leach, Mrs. Waller W. Carson and Mrs. Forrest Watson, Mrs. Mayo and Miss Schoolfield.
Also: Mr. and Mrs. T.A. Wright Jr. and Miss Wright, Mrs. Frank A. Baumann, Mr. and Mrs. Talley and Mr. Jones.
Hosts at the rehearsal dinner will be Mr. and Mrs. Huster and Mr. and Mrs. powers, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene McClamroch will give a breakfast on April 5.
Among those who have already entertained are Mesdames Louise McCleary, Farwell Draper, John Sadler, T.I. Stephenson, Ralph Cate, Mitchell Long, and Sherman Pratt and Miss Keeling.
