A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew Paul and JoAnna Boykin in Fremont. She was born in Wilson County on October 6, 1940 to the late Mannie and Fannie Lee Lewis Bass. She is survived by three sons, Linwood Boykin of Four Oaks, Timothy Boykin of Goldsboro and Matthew Paul Boykin and wife, JoAnna of Fremont; and one daughter, Debra Bates of Goldsboro; two brothers, Garland and Bobby Bass; two sisters, Judy Faye and Linda; seven grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. The family is being served by Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 North Pine Street in Fremont.
