Michael D. Bassett
NEW SALEM ? Michael D. Bassett of New Salem Road died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at Kingston Hospital. He was 51.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served from 1970-72 in the Corps of Engineers.
Mr. Bassett was most recently employed by Fleet Financial Services until his illness.
Born Nov. 7, 1949, in Kingston, he was a son of the late Michael ?Mickey? Evans and Beatrice Enty Bassett. He was the stepson of the late Charles D. Bassett Sr.
Survivors include four sisters, Elmia Kitchart, Toni Bassett, Marsha Curtis and Renee Muhuammad, all of Kingston; four brothers, Charles Jr. of Farmington, Minn., Raymond Evans and Wilfred Bassett, both of Kingston and Bruce Evans of Florida; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Two sisters, Gail Bassett and Linda Crome, died previously.
The funeral will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Joseph V., Leahy Funeral Home, 27 Smith Ave., Kingston. Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Saratoga.
