Kevin A. Smith of Millbury, died on Thursday, February 17, 2011, in his home after a short illness. He leaves his wife of 10 years, Rebecca (Johnson) Smith; two children: Allan P. Smith and Becky L. Smith, both of Millbury; two stepsons: Michael J. Laferriere and Keith J. Laferriere, both of Moosup, Connecticut; and three grandchildren: Emily C. Smith, Benjamin A. Smith, and Noah R. Smith, all of Millbury. He was born in Worcester on January 22, 1958, son of the late Samuel M. and Pearl O. (Bassette) Smith, and though he resided briefly in Douglas and Sutton, he lived most of his life in Millbury. He attended Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School, Upton. Kevin was a self-employed truck driver. Previously, he was a maintenance supervisor for 12 years at Wyman-Gordon Company, North Grafton. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and boating. His funeral will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 21, in Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Millbury. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday, February 21, from 5 to 7 p.m., before the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor his memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, Massachusetts 02451.
