Billy Grey Bass, 91 of Athens, passed away on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, at his residence. Mr. Bass was born on January 16th, 1934, in Minor Hill, Tennessee, to W. Elvy Bass and M. Kathleen McMasters Bass.
Mr. Bass is survived by his wife, Billie Bass; daughter Suzanne Bass; son Jeff Bass (Merri Beth); sisters Martha McCord and Elaine Brown (Rob); granddaughter Meredith Baswell (Chad); great-grandchildren Davis Baswell, Winn Baswell, and Sam Baswell.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother David E. Bass; and granddaughter Janice Nicole Bass.
A memorial service for Mr. Bass will be Saturday, March 29th, 2025, at 1:00pm, at Athens 1st Methodist Church, with Mac Buttram officiating. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service from 12:00-1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alabama Veterans Museum, Athens 1st Methodist Church, or the charity of your choice.
Mr. Bass was a Navy veteran.
