  Notes	The News & Observer, Raleigh, North Carolina, Monday, 8 October 2007 Valerie Bartholomew Bass SPRING HOPE -- Valerie B. Bass, age 79, died Saturday, October 6,2007, at Nash General Hospital. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, October 9, at 11:00 AM from the First Baptist Church, Spring Hope, by Rev. Chris Ehrlich. Interment will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery. Valerie was an active and long time member of First Baptist Church of Spring Hope where she dearly loved signing in the choir. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters and sons-in-law; Paula B. and Ronnie Proctor, Carla B. and Bill Rogers; granddaughter and grand son-in-law, Carly and Travis Williams, all of Spring Hope; sister-in-law, Dot Matthews and husband, Bennie Lee Matthews; many nieces, nephews and friends. Her husband, Otto Bass; sister, Shirley Carter, preceded her in death. The family will receive friends at Spring Hope Funeral Home 7:008:30 p.m. Monday evening and at other times at the home.
