- Joseph Bass Dies Thursday
Joseph Dean Bass, 65, of 1203 9th Ave., Roch Falls died Thursday evening at Community General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. Lowell. I ???, pastor of the Maranatha Baptist Church of Yeowardville, Rock Falls officiating. Burial will be in Oak Knol Memorial Park in Sterling. Friends may call at the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m.
Joseph Bass was born Oct. 5, 1908 in Kinmundy, Ill., the son of Joseph K. and Mary E. Jones Bass. He was united in marriage to the former Dorothy C. Sands on Sept. 7, 1947. They celebrated their 27th anniversary this year. He was employed for Northwestern Steel and Wire Co. at Parish Alford for 23 years as a wire fabricator.
He is survived by his widow, Dorothy, two sons, Roger of California and Ellis of Rock Falls, two sisters, Mrs. Charles (missing rest of obit).

ROCK FALLS ? Services for Joseph D. Bass, 65, 1203 19th Ave., who died Thursday in Community General Hospital, Sterling, will be at 1:30 today in the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.
Survivors include his widow, Dorothy; two sons, Roger, California, and Ellis, Rock Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Charles M. Iatke, Sterling, and Mrs. Elizabeth Rice, Oregon; five brothers, Archie, Rock Falls; Robert, York, Nev.; Everett, Rock Falls; Pearl, and Elvin, both of Dixon, and a granddaughter.
