He worked at Dixon Development Center for 25 years before he retired. He was born Feb. 1, 1949, in Sterling, the son of Pearl and Eleanor (Holman) Bass. He married Barbara Brown in 1974 in Dixon. Survivors include two children, Jody Bass and Sara Bass Nordick, both of Grand Forks, North Dakota; one brother, Kenneth Bass of Clay City; and three sisters, Patricia Kane of Rock Falls, Bonnie Stahl of Dixon, and Leila Bass of Rock Falls. He was preceded in death by one daughter at birth, Amanda Bass; his parents; and his wife. Cremation rites have been accorded. The service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Lincoln Avenue Church of God, 704 Lincoln Ave., Dixon, with pastor Michael Worrall officiating.
