Bernadette Bessette
BESSETTE, BERNADETTE, 84, of Cumberland, passed away Monday, January 18, 2010. She was the wife of Albert Bessette. They were happily married for 62 years.
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Stanislaus and Amanda (Mailhot) Riendeau. Mrs. Bessette has lived in Cumberland for the last 58 years. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a volunteer for the PIN Program and a member of the Cancer Support Group at Saint Aidan's Church, and a member of the Red Hatter's Society.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Janice Connor and her husband Ernie, John Bessette and his wife Becky, Paul Bessette and his wife Jemelie, Robert Bessette, Susan Munroe and her husband Don, and Marc Bessette and his wife Susan, her grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband David, Brad, Daniel, Evan, Michael, Matthew, Jessica, Kelly, Mitchell, and Zachary, her great grandchildren, Maxwell and Nathaniel, and her special nieces, Louise and Adele.
The funeral will be held Friday at 8:45am from the O'NEILL Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Saint Aidan Church, 1460 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8pm. Burial will be private.
