Albert Bessette (Picture included)
BESSETTE, ALBERT E. 96, of Cumberland passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Bernadette (Riendeau) Bessette. They were happily married for 64 years. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late George and Exilia (Therrien) Bessette. Albert was a WWII Navy veteran. He lived in Cumberland for the last 60 years. He was a member of Saint Aidan's parish where he taught CCD. Albert worked at the former Landry Hardware Store, Central Falls. He is survived by his children, Susan Monroe and her husband Don, Paul Bessette and his wife Jemelie, John Bessette and his wife Becky, Robert Bessette, and Marc Bessette and his wife, Susan. He was the father of the late Janice Connor. He also leaves his son-in-law, Ernest Connor. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 10am in Saint Aidan Church, 1460 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI, 02904. Arrangements by O'Neill Funeral Home, Cumberland.
