Allene Bass

Allene Bass, age 78 of Columbia, MS passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Even though she was primarily a homemaker, she also managed bookkeeping in the family business. Allene was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Columbia and enjoyed working in her yard gardening various flowers and plants.
Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by her parents, Hollie Broome and Della Ray Foles Broome; and brothers, Elbey Broome, Elvin Broome, and Ray Broome. Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband of 60 years, Charles Bass of Columbia; sons, Mike Bass (Melanie), and Brent Bass, both of Columbia; her sister, Kathleen Magee of Columbia; five grandchildren, Michael William Bass (Nicole), Meredith Bass Russell (Michael), Tyler Dakota Bass (Kassidy), Taylor Bass Hicks (Zach), and Trenton Everette Bass; and four great-grandchildren, Emma Holland Bass, William Nicolas ?Liam? Bass, Brentlie Dakota Bass, and Ainsley Brooke Bass.
Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Colonial Funeral Home. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 12:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Bassfield, MS assisted by Michael Bass, Tyler Bass, Trenton Bass, Zach Hicks, Ryan Breakfield, and Joseph Parkman as pallbearers.
